“Anger” & “Aggression”

Gerard Pommier likely wouldn’t find it all that shocking how many patients have sought help at the request of a lover who finds their anger to be disturbing.  That said, just as many patients are themselves rather perturbed by their own manifestations of rage towards others which seem to elude their attempts at self-control.  It is the oddly social aspect of aggression—the fact that, unlike anxiety or a phobia, it unfailingly involves another person—which leads us to wonder “to whom” is the rage actually being addressed, “from whom” has it been received, and “for whom” is it being treated?
